About this workshop

What can one or may do to engage in civic engagement and join movements for social change? How do you begin? This workshop will provide a way of thinking outwardly as we expand the walls of the Church into justice movements for social change. We will use the UM Social Principles as a framework to help guide us, and then spend time looking at the power of telling our stories, discovering common values and interests across our differences, and end with discussion of specific kinds of actions you can take in your community. The workshop leader is available after the workshop is offered to work with you and a team in your congregation on how best to engage in a specific social justice issues in your community.
