Check them outHelping Children Worldwide (HCW) is a registered 501 c3 nonprofit tax-exempt based in Virginia. It has been in operation for 20 years. HCW strengthens communities in Sierra Leone by supporting programs that provide vulnerable children and their families with opportunities for education, health care, and spiritual mentoring. It works with the Child Rescue Centre and Mercy Hospital as two main organizations in Sierra Leone. The Child Rescue Centre (CRC) and Mercy Hospital are especially focused on education, family stability, maternal health, infant survival, and childhood nutrition. Mohamed Nabieu (“Nabs”) is a care leaver, and he was one of the first children that were recruited by the Child Rescue Centre (CRC) after the Sierra Leone civil war. Under his leadership as the Programs Director, the CRC successfully and safely transitioned from Orphanage care to Family-based care. Now, he is the Assistant Director for Mission Advancement & Partner Church Lead at Helping Children Worldwide, which is a registered 501 C3 nonprofit organization based in the greater D.C. Area. Nabs is a thought leader, a motivational speaker, and a child advocate. He has a background in Applied Organizational Psychology, Leadership Development, Positive Psychology, and Child Welfare.
